On Board Courier work between the UK, Mauritius and Tanzania
Monday, February 15, 2016
SpeedLink are proud to deliver secure, reliable and efficient on board courier services all across the world, as demonstrated by some work we recently completed between the UK, Mauritius and Tanzania.
Joseph* was due to depart Mauritius in just 4 days on his private jet and fly to Arusha, Tanzania to spend a week trekking Mount Kilimanjaro. However, his PA Miranda* discovered a huge problem – Joseph’s passport was completely full of visas, entry and exit stamps. In order to get a visa to enter Tanzania, he needed two clear pages – which he didn’t have.
Plans to have an emergency temporary passport issued by the Canadian Embassy in London England. Once the passport was issued, a tourist visa for Tanzania was processed and entered into Joseph’s temporary passport. The passport was then collected by SpeedLink in London, and then carried by on board courier to the resort where Joseph was staying in Mauritius!
On Board Courier Services from the UK to Mauritius
The delivery of our on board courier services were made possible by a SpeedLink driver collecting the passport and documents from Miranda in London Thursday evening, and then forwarding it to one of SpeedLink’s on board couriers. SpeedLink’s courier then departed London Heathrow T3 on an Emirates Airbus A380 Friday night at 10:00PM. The flight to Mauritius required a quick connection in Dubai with an arrival time in Mauritius of about 5PM Saturday afternoon the following day. Joseph’s passport was delivered to the resort on the Le Morne Peninsula at 8:30PM local time Saturday evening.
Joseph was able to travel to Mauritius via his private jet to continue on his itinerary uninterrupted.
Continued On-Board Courier Service work
SpeedLink continued our on-board courier service work from there, however, as Joseph planned to continue his travels from Tanzania after hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, to Kenya and then on to Dubai. Unfortunately, his temporary passport would not allow him to enter either Kenya or Dubai. So again, Miranda put plans in place to carry his temporary Canadian passport back to Canada House in London to be exchanged for a new, full passport.
After that, SpeedLink’s on board courier services were once again enlisted, instructing us to get Joseph’s full passport back to Tanzania. So once again, SpeedLink dispatched a courier to Tanzania via Nairobi on Kenya Airways. The flight departed Heathrow Terminal 4 at 7:00PM Thursday with arrival at Kilimanjaro International the following day just after 9:00AM. The courier then jumped into a rented 4-wheel drive jeep to complete the final 30 miles by road. Joseph’s full Canadian passport was safely delivered to the concierge at the hotel in Arusha at 11:00AM. Joseph was now free to carry on in his travels uninterrupted to Miranda’s great relief!
